So today i finalized the first of the hero paint jobs on the dark angels unit. this has been a pleasure to paint and even with my personal opinions on the evil empire and there marketing and promotional kingdom i have to say they do produce some of the loveliest miniatures to put paint to.
The armor is dark angels then edged with snot and highlighted with goblin green.
The cloth is a german armor grey with a stone grey, bleach bone and white highlight.
The reds are simply a rouge red with a blood red highlight. Some of the red was inked with the army painter brown ink to bring in the shadows and add depth to the stark contrasting color.
The metal is a simple boltgun and chainmail highlight with some blacklining around the chains and angel symbol on his back.
This was also my first blue power sword in five years. i am very happy with the outcome and i hope that my client is too.
Check him out below.
this week i aim to complete my most recently started miniature commission, a squad of beautiful dark angel space marines. i love painting battle hardened miniatures in armor as even when you are finished you can still add volumes of detail to each guy with scratches, scuffs and dents. hence i am very excited to get out of highlighting and get to the detailing stage. these guys will be finished to a hero standard. check them out below
also i am working on a few miniatures of my own. i love to keep a small project or two going alongside my commissions. two reasons really. one, i get volumes of practise (and everyone can improve) and two its fun to work for me. not the specifications of a client for once :-P
and below is the human part of my faction

My latest commission has been a wonder to paint. i sat down the other night to "do some work" on this order and ended up powering through the whole thing! I LOVE PAINTING UNIFORMS and on that note, anyone you has uniformed miniatures they want painted i would gladly take on the commission!
i am even feeling inspired to set up a few army deals like
THE napoleonic's deal
50-100 napoleonic uniform miniatures painted to "special" standard for £4 each! saving a total of £1 on each miniature...that's £50-100 savings!
THE ABOVE IS VERY MUCH IN BETA
but i digress and i must move on to show you these lovvveeellyyyy pre 1812 napoleonic french fusiliers and the spanish irregulars.

DEAR CLIENTS OF EASYPAINTER
i must reiterate the importance (generally) in correspsondance between ourselves. it is key to the commission that you are checking your emails at least once a day so that any questions and or queries i may have in regards to the nature of your order don't go unanswered and henceforth your order doesnt sit on my desk waiting for the next step.
i am also afraid to inform that family circumstances have bought be back to the family home for a few months. i shall be moving the business this week and i shall proceed with all work from next friday.
These guys have been an absolute pleasure to place brush to and i am coming to the end of the commission now so i thought i would share some of the work i have been doing recently
I received two lots of barbarians, one that seemed rather coherent with a king fellah and another lot that seemed a little miss matched. to make up for this i decided to follow the route of a international group of barbarians for the second group. I have therefore proceeded to paint them predominantly white skinned, but some are of other races, as if to portray a collaborative collection of killers, united under one fur color.
I DO NOT CURRENTLY OWN A CAMERA HENCEFORTH THESE IMAGES ARE PURELY REPRESENTATIONAL OF THE FINAL PRODUCT, BETTER PICTURES WILL FOLLOW SHORTLY.
The kings cohort
The grey furs...or...some of them
The first and my most favorite grey fur i want to share is the tarzan model. now i could not bringmyself to massacre the model like every other painter and paint him white. for the real tarzan (or the "original" ) was not and could not have been. henceforth this miniature was a great excuse to begin bringing the other nationalities into the mix.
I also experimented with hard wooden (they're meant to be beech wood) weaponry. and i have to say, i am CHUFFED!
Next up is my "persian prince" skinjob attempt. again i am very happy with the paint job. painting dark tanned skin and not going too light into Caucasian flesh tone is HARRRDDDD!
The darkest skinjob of the lot was the "African aristocrat". I was looking forward to getting to this miniature as i knew that his added details (helmet and cloth shield) would make him unique anyway, the skinjob was just the icing on the cake.
The next miniature is one of the first sculpts i ever laid hands on at the age of 6 years old! it is also one of my favorite sculpts ever. It was an absolute honor to paint this guy for someone else...for once.
The easteners - these guys where fun to paint are some very lovely sculpts
BLARG - a man with an axe to boot.
sometimes a sculpt receives paint so graciously that its like miniature dancing, in Blarg's case (my suedo name for the fella in question) it was awesome. an hour long shift of bliss as he just ate up all the paint. a bloody big fella, with a bloody big axe. i could not resist blood effects on that axe, especially as it was a nice chance to practice blood spray and directional blood spatter.
