Last night i put the final wash on the Axemen unit. They still need some touch ups and some corrections but i will get to that when i do the whole army for coherency. A great little unit and dressed rather simplistically so they where a joy to paint.
One thing i want to start doing is miniature reviews of my commissions. i think that its a lovely way to direct more traffic through the blog from google but also for people to be making up their own mind and for me to have a log of my work that i can check for my own purchasing reference :).
OLD GLORY HITTIE AXEMEN
Price: 4/5 (v good value)
Sculpts: 2.5/5 (mostly functional, some unique)
Variation: 2/5 (not very mixed. mostly doubles)
Accuracy: 3/5 (pretty historically accurate)
Casting: 3/5 (good)
Although providing many doubles and some awkward flashing in the arm areas the miniatures are easy enough to get started on and the simple pattern of sculpting on the body types makes it easy to achieve a factory or"chain" method of painting.
The weapons are nice, the details sharp where they are prevalent and the hair is sculpted nicely. these are the perfect rank and file biblical troop, mainly as they are mostly robed with little straps or "other" bits to distract you!
A MESSAGE TO PROSPECTIVE SHOPPERS!
This regiment took roughly one week from any prep to completion (granted i was working on other bits as well, so still a fast turn around considered!)
If you are interested in trying out the service then please contact with any questions and check out the Rates or Deals pages! see if you can save some money and get those minis on the table at the same time!
