Biblical Order RoundupToday i had time to sit down and put the finishing touches on the current biblical order. It has been an exciting ride and in my opinion a genuinely successful project! I found the beige block to be a constant challenge but with the wash you get some great flexibility with that. The thing i found to have learned most from this commission is that you can add just a tiny little bit of color, do it with confidence, and do it on every miniature and you end up with an exciting and interesting result. The City GuardThese guys where a smooth ride and a great experience as usual with uniform regiments. i had a genuine blast seeing them come together so quickly. what a lovely mixture of troops and a nice choice to use the sumerian command for the command of this unit. Miniature reviewNEWLINE DESIGNS SPEAR MEN (unknown race) and SUMERIAN COMMAND
Price: 4/5 (v good value) Sculpts: 2.5/5 (mainly functional)) Variation: 2/5 (not very mixed. mostly doubles) Accuracy: 3/5 (pretty historically accurate) Casting: 3/5 (good) These miniatures had a rather bland appearance in the white metal form but once i got the undercoat on i could see the potential for such detail on the minis! clean casting, smooth sculpting and appropriate detail makes these some of the more pleasant unit types i have painted in a while. i have yet to attach the spears but i can already see they won't be half the hassle the separate bows where for the archers as they are nice and slim and look to fit right into the archers hands. |
