Sometimes when you paint a model you just stare at one part thinking "im getting to you don't you worry...i'm getting there..." and you cannot wait. for this model it was always the inking stage and the lighting effects. i knew that with such a depth of detail that the ink would not only be needed but a massive aid in bringing the detail to life after the first layer had gone on and setting the "guidelines" so to speak.
here is an inked image or two with one of the lovely back of this model.
Next up is the visor. something i have been very excited about! there is never a time when i am painting lighting that i am not! being a media graduate the manipulation of light and its consequent result is very important to me, i have been considering buying an airbrush for this reason recently!
check out the visors so far below, i have given them gradual increasingly light layers of blue as it was the best color to use on the color wheel....yes....i did it....i used a wheel for once! haha go me!
