This week i have been pretty busy but i have found time to put some paint to this beautiful model and its counterparts. I thought i would share what i have been able to share more easily on the facebook until now.

So first thing i did was block out the basic colors. i followed everyone else's example of regal blue and put some sandy yellow to contrast it. The weapons where a wacky mix of diferent metalics with white and black for uniformity. I gave the horse a few layers of flat white and the hair a bone coat. The thing i love about horses eyes is that they are black until they get angry, so most battle horses (being trained in being angry) walked around seemingly chilled and subdued...until they go chewbacca on someones ass and tear them a new one.
With a few coats of Army Painter strong coat and black on the stones and base i was ready to begin the highlighting process.
The horse came first with white followed by streaks of muscle tone on the flanks and bends of the muscle which i painted on with Army painter to keep things tied together.
Finally i painted the muzzle and the ears, the hooves and plume got a very similar treatment from bone through lighter bone to white tips.
The weathering on the feet of the horse and the stones was achieved with a mixture of brown drybrushing and tamiya brown weathering pigment.
The Armor and cloak got the same color treatment with different techniques, utilising edging and natural highlighting.
